All the best marketers rely on a series of tools or services to get certain jobs done to a level that is expected of them to improve their conversions, boost their client base and increase sales. To that end I am no exception. Over the years I have experimented with many tools of varying price, performance and use capabilities and on this page i delve into the ones I think are essential. Anyone looking to make money online in this day and age needs the following tools, so I've compiled the ones I use each and every single day in each category that requires a tool or service.
Autoresponder
Whether you are selling your own product or promoting other peoples as an affiliate marketer you need an email list. You may have heard the phrase 'The money is in the list' and it is 100% correct, it is widely suggested that for each subscriber on your list a good marketer should be capable of earning a dollar (on average) per month. For many marketers this is just the beginning. An autoresponder does three unique things. Firstly it collects and stores the email information of the subscribers who have chosen to join your list. Secondly it has the functionality to send pre written emails at pre determined intervals automatically starting as soon as someone joins your list, meaning your business is working for you 24/7. Lastly you can send emails anytime you want to your list when the need arrives. We use Aweber and it does a great job doing all of the above.

Following on from the last entry we have to talk about sound. Its the number one thing people forget when creating content. The quality of the sound. But it is the easiest to improve. A good mic takes you from annoying amateur to border line profession sound expert in one slick move. The best thing is that they are well priced. We all use the Blue Yeti microphones. They connect to the computer via USB and record amazing audio. They can be used with a stand or a bracket. Whilst we use them to improve our video ten fold we also use then to create podcasts as they can comfortably record the sound from an in person conversation of multiple people.

If you've ever been online, which you have, you'll have been more interested in things that look appealing. This is mainly down to interesting graphics. I'm talking about logos, infographics and social media images. The problem is that we are not all graphic designers with years of experience of using industry standard tools. Fortunately like most things tools have been created that make this process fool proof. For the past few years we have been using Canva. It's definitely one of the easier tools a non tech person can attempt to use. Just like the page builder mentioned above it has an intuitive drag and drop interface and comes loaded with more templates for any eventuality you could possible imagine (and i'm not over exaggerating here).

Every single marketer needs some form of page. Whether they are looking to get opt-ins, sell products or even increase and promote their own brand. For the last few years we have been doing this in the form of funnels. Funnels have taken websites and simplified them but at the same time turbo charged them to do very specific things by taking a visitor by the hand and nurturing them through a series of predetermined pages to increase the chances of the visitor becoming a customer in a way the regular website never had the capability. We have been using ClickFunnels in our business for many years and swear by it. They have created a tool that is both super easy to use due to the simple drag and drop functionality, but also easy to get started due to the extensive templates available for pretty much any eventuality.

Over the course of your career as an internet marketer you will be creating many campaigns, but also you will be sending different types of traffic from different sources for different purposes. You will need a way of keeping track of all of this traffic and whether the traffic is high quality and highly converting. In order to do this we use link tracking software. The one we use is called Click Magick. This ensure that we can see all the types of metrics that are important and make changes to our campaigns as and when we see fit. In addition it allows us to split test campaigns. Split testing is the process of using a single link but rotating what the link sends the user to. We can then check the stats to see which page had the most success.

We all know that to succeed online you need to be multi faceted. That means the utilisation of video. The problem is creating professional looking video can be tricky. Thats why we need a great webcam. These little things have come a long way from the days when they created awful pixelated visuals where you couldn't recognise the person in the video. For a reasonable price you can create excellent video, which integrates with your computer seamlessly. Being able to create great video means that you can create youtube content, video conferences and interviews, tutorials and lessons as well as sales or demonstration videos. We opt for the Logitech camera. First tip of video is to ensure you have decent light on you for the best results.

Having a page or a series of page isn't always enough. Why? Most page builder do a fantastic job like Clickfunnels recommended above, but the pages are created and hosted under the ClickFunnels domain. So when you share the page it has their name in the URL. As a professional marketer that is serious about their business you need brand specific domains names that are clean and short as possible, you'll be surprised at the impact something seemingly minor like this makes. In addition it means that you will be able to create email address from your chosen domain name. We get our domain names from Namecheap, who do a fantastic job of providing the names we want and then forwarding them onto our page creator so it all links up super smoothly.

A lot of the time we need or want to create original video content without staring in the video ourselves. We just want great looking professional video whether its for YouTube, explanatory video or sales video. Content Samurai allows us to create video using copyright and royalty free stock footage along with a variety of transitions and overlays as well as the introduction of music or voiceovers.
